Break the Cycle

As christians we are not exempt from hurt, pain, trials and tribulations. If were honest we're more so a magnet for it. However, reality is when you're going through who is it that you can really call on? Yes, most would say that why you go to the church. Not to knock the church but my question is can you really? As young adults I know there are things we experience in life that somebody else has dealt with. Yet, at the same time you would never know because everyone wants to portray this perfect lifestyle. You know, like they have it all together. While in the meantime you have people hurting and crying out for help BUT don't feel connected to a soul to convey what their experiencing. Not only that but then the fear of being judged or everyone in their circle or around the church knowing all your personal business.

In my short life on this earth I've learned it's ok to be a Christian and to say your hurting and/or you're going through a tough time in your life. In reality if Christians expressed this more saved will fill ok with not putting on this "church front"; and the unsaved will feel secure with viewing the church as the place they could actually come and get healed. However, we must realize we can't heal anyone else until we heal ourselves. The time has come and gone to fake what life dishes out because of a title you hold in church. Individuals are mentally dying because they when life get to hard that don't have anyone to talk to. Yet, that should be you.

It's time to break the cycle! Break the cycle of title holding but not holding someone's hand as they take this walk. Break the cycle of I'm a Christian and I can't relate to anything but church related matters; when after church more matters than that. Break the cycle of because I'm a Christian I my life is peaches and cream. Break the cycle of thinking every time the preacher says something about "church folk" he not talking to you. Break the cycle of leaving our brother & sisters to fend for themselves when you are in the position to help. Break the cycle of fakeness, putting on & church foolery. Break the cycle of hating on each other and tearing one another down.We often talk about how in the streets they kill one another but within the Christian world its the same. If we don't Break the Cycle; our killing rate will soon be at an all time high.

My hearts cry is that we can learn to first be real with ourselves and then be real with each other. It's your life's journey be an example to those coming behind you. The ball is in your court and are you down to help... BREAK THE CYCLE?!!??!?

Word Up Wednesday

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me
2 Corinthians 12:9 (KJV)

But He said to me, My grace (My favor and loving-kindness and mercy) is enough for you [sufficient against any danger and enables you to bear the trouble manfully]; for My strength and power are made perfect (fulfilled and completed) and [a]show themselves most effective in [your] weakness. Therefore, I will all the more gladly glory in my weaknesses and infirmities, that the strength and power of Christ (the Messiah) may rest (yes, may[b]pitch a tent over and dwell) upon me!

Word Up Wednesday

Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
Malachi 3:10 (KJV)

Begin by being honest. Do honest people rob God? But you rob me day after day. You ask, 'How have we robbed you?' The tithe and the offering—that's how! And now you're under a curse —the whole lot of you—because you're robbing me. Bring your full tithe to the Temple treasury so there will be ample provisions in my Temple. Test me in this and see if I don't open up heaven itself to you and pour out blessings beyond your wildest dreams. For my part, I will defend you against marauders, protect your wheat fields and vegetable gardens against plunderers." The Message of God-of-the-Angel-Armies.

Over & Over

It is very easy to focus on all the things you need & want. Not to mention all your situations/circumstances and how this or that could have occurred for a greater outcome. Reality is we as  people (including Christians) complain a lot. Ironically many things we complain about are results of our own actions. Meaning some of our decisions has placed us in positions where the only complaint we need to make is to ourselves about ourselves. Have you ever met an individual who conveyed all the things they were dealing with but you never hear them complaining. Yet you find yourself having a few issues yet every time you open your mouth you’re complaining and being negative.  Christians is time to realized how blessed YOU are. Yeah, situations and circumstances occur which prevent your life from being peachy cream all the time. However, those come to test and build your faith.
You must understand that even when things may be in an uproar, God is still blessing you. Look at you… Clothed … hair layed… eating good… working… unemployed but bills still getting paid… getting to & fro daily… cable … cell phone…  friends & family who care about you… eyes blinking…  walking & talking good…  good weekly word at church… Shall I continue?!?!? I mean let’s think about it. You got pulled over for speeding, but the cop just gave you a warning. That bill YOU payed late, they waived the late fee. That friend who you just met just went through what you did and was able to help you. That thing you continue to do God keeps giving you a way out. Oh wait!!!!! Let me guess you think you deserve all that????!!! Not at all, BUT God continues to bless YOU. So the next time you open your mouth to complain, think about it. Take that complaint and turn it into a THANK YOU! While that particular thing may not be working out something else is. God will handle your that! Now you handle your praise that is due to Him, because God is truly, “blessing you over and over again.”

Friday Favorites

This week Friday's Favorites are dedicated to @PastorYPG on Twitter. He tweeted so many wonderful things this past week I just had to share...

Satan is proof that it's possible to memorize the whole Bible and still be a devil. Don't just learn God's word. Apply it.

Just because it's hard for you to believe God can do it doesn't mean it's hard for Him to do it.

In times past, I've allowed pain 2change my behavior negatively. You must maintain your integrity EVEN while you're hurting.

Being overly deep does NOT make you anointed. In most cases it makes you annoying.

Some people aren't haters. They just don't like you because you're mean! If you're not likable, maybe you need to !

Give your haters some exercise. Keep being successful so they can keep RUNNING their mouths.

Find someone that fits where you are going... not just where you are.

Ladies, it's a proven fact that dogs chase tail so the best way to avoid a dog is by covering yours up.

Lust says, "I want you for the moment" but Love says, "I need you for a life time."

how can you expect to find real love if you keep giving your heart to fake ppl?

If you keep comparing the new person to the LAST person, then the new person won't LAST. Get out of the past & into the NEW.

God is Love. God hates sin. So how can you Make LOVE outside of marriage if it's sin & God isn't in it?

Some people say, "I can't live without them!" but you were living before you met them.

It's the nature of a child to play with things. When you date childish people what do you think they'll do with your emotions?

Some ppl say they're abstinent when the truth is they just can't get any. Abstinence is a choice not an excuse.

Sex is medicine & marriage is the prescription. If you're not married, you're taking an illegal drug. If you are... feel free 2overdose.

Inner Thoughts

Have you ever wanted to do something so bad but when giving the opportunity fear instantly greeted you? Every thought possible presents itself in a realistic fashion as to why you shouldn't do it. Yet, when dreaming and praying for the opportunity those thoughts never even existed. Now all of a sudden you're confidence drops, you're questioning your ability & you're scared.

It's amazing how we recognize what we want until the time comes. The time for the dream/prayer/manifestation to happen. Trust what God has placed in you. He gave you those gifts & talents by no mistake. How great is it that you've made the choice to use those gifts/talents to bring Him glory. (Side Note: That doesn't mean everything has to be done in the church. Rather, where ever we are that we don't betray or disobey God's commandments.)

So go ahead and say, "Hello Fear", while pursuing what's in front of you. Please don't be discouraged if that opportunity isn't offered to you. Yet, rejoice that fear didn't control you, God did!

THE BEST IS YET TO COME!!!
Say Goodbye to FEAR!

For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
Colossians 1:9-10 (KJV)

For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives,so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,

Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.
Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.
Matthew 24:42-44 (KJV)

“Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.

Inner Thoughts

If I didn't dream or believe God's word, I would settle. Settle for any job, mate & life presented. Thing is I recognize there are so many GREAT things in store for me. I know where I'm going is far greater than where I am. Understanding this is only a season, but yes I wonder when this season will end. There are days when tears can no longer fall & only my heart cries. Cries because my situation wants me to believe this is the basis of my life; Happy but not happy. Struggling but not struggling. Average but not average. Yet, My faith will not let me give up. In fact it pushes me to remain faithful so I can prove God's word to be true. So welcome a season of change & a season of transition. Your platform may not be one for the world to see. However, someone is watching & following after you. Let the God in you prevail. Giving others hope, strength & courage to also remain faithful because our God is ABLE.

First Things First

Life can be so demanding. Pulling one in many different directions throughout the week. Work, meetings, weekly rehearsals, chauffeuring your kids, class, homework, maintaining the family, etc. When you finally get a day or even an hour to yourself the focus is on self. "Me time" never hurt anybody, right?! Right! However, as our daily calenders reach capacity, we must never forget to set time aside to spend with Jesus. Busy schedules lead to having a microwave date with Jesus. Meaning in about 30 seconds to a minute the timer goes off and we're on to something else. Or we tackle two tasks at once. Examples include; praying in the shower, while driving to work and/or praying laying in the bed right before falling to sleep (or falling to sleep doing so). Yet, we must take the time to sit at the feet of Jesus. Waking up in enough time to kneel before the Lord in prayer before starting the day. Taking time to study & meditate on His Word. Taking time to fast. We often seek answers from the Lord but we must avail ourselves for Him to speak back to us. First Things First!

Word Up Wednesday

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
Philippians 1:6

Every time you cross my mind, I break out in exclamations of thanks to God. Each exclamation is a trigger to prayer. I find myself praying for you with a glad heart. I am so pleased that you have continued on in this with us, believing and proclaiming God's Message, from the day you heard it right up to the present. There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears.

Word Up Wednesday

But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
1 Peter 5:10 (KJV)

Keep a cool head. Stay alert. The Devil is poised to pounce, and would like nothing better than to catch you napping. Keep your guard up. You're not the only ones plunged into these hard times. It's the same with Christians all over the world. So keep a firm grip on the faith. The suffering won't last forever. It won't be long before this generous God who has great plans for us in Christ—eternal and glorious plans they are!—will have you put together and on your feet for good. He gets the last word; yes, he does.

God Has Smiled On You

Its so easy to get consumed by the things we need or even the things we want. Wondering, wishing & praying for God to show up & make a way. While in God's timing His will, will prevail. One must not lose sight of His previous track record. My song of the week pick says, "God Has Smiled On Me". It doesn't say He just smiled on Sunday, Wednesdays & Fridays. Yet this is an ongoing occurrence. Recognize who we're discussing here. A man who never sleeps, takes breaks, forgets, or miss anything going on. So take a minute to reflect. As you reflect I'm sure there are soooooo many situations and circumstances that you can say, "yea God definitely has been smiling on me". You see everything isn't about God making these big financial ways, getting a house and so forth. Yet, we face small issues everyday where we simply just say thank you Jesus. Examples include: not getting in a car accident, peace, being able to handle a situation with someone else without going off, favor, strength, courage, perseverance, family, friends, joy & God's love. Take a listen to my song of the week pick (posted Monday) and be encouraged because God Has Smiled On You!

Word Up Wednesday

And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.
Deuteronomy 8:2 (KJV)

Keep and live out the entire commandment that I'm commanding you today so that you'll live and prosper and enter and own the land that God promised to your ancestors. Remember every road that God led you on for those forty years in the wilderness, pushing you to your limits, testing you so that he would know what you were made of, whether you would keep his commandments or not. He put you through hard times. He made you go hungry. Then he fed you with manna, something neither you nor your parents knew anything about, so you would learn that men and women don't live by bread only; we live by every word that comes from God's mouth. Your clothes didn't wear out and your feet didn't blister those forty years. You learned deep in your heart that God disciplines you in the same ways a father disciplines his child.

Death, Burial & Ressurection

The Death...
Continue to kill our flesh daily. If those desires don't line up with the Word of God then if you don't kill them first they will kill you. Not only kill you but kill you with no hope of life (flatline). In other words... It's not all about a physical death but a mental one.

The Burial...
6 feet under is where some things need to be. When delivered from people, places & things leave them where we left them. It may be hard to say goodbye but guess what you will say hello to will be far greater than what you just buried.

The Ressurection...
It's time to get up and walk in your new season! Don't be scurred to be who God created you to be. You have purpose to fulfill that God's given not man given. Live to to please Him. No matter what may come the blood has already been shed and covers you. You are Peculiar & royalty. Speak Like It... Think Like It... Act Like It...

Word Up Wednesday

26Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified. 27Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers. 28And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe. 29And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews! 30And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head.31And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him.
Matthew 27: 26-31 (KJV)

Then he pardoned Barabbas. But he had Jesus whipped, and then handed over for crucifixion. The soldiers assigned to the governor took Jesus into the governor's palace and got the entire brigade together for some fun. They stripped him and dressed him in a red toga. They plaited a crown from branches of a thornbush and set it on his head. They put a stick in his right hand for a scepter. Then they knelt before him in mocking reverence: "Bravo, King of the Jews!" they said. "Bravo!" Then they spit on him and hit him on the head with the stick. When they had had their fun, they took off the toga and put his own clothes back on him. Then they proceeded out to the crucifixion.
Matthew 27:26-31 (The Message)
