Word Wednesday

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:8 (KJV)

Christ arrives right on time to make this happen. He didn't, and doesn't, wait for us to get ready. He presented himself for this sacrificial death when we were far too weak and rebellious to do anything to get ourselves ready. And even if we hadn't been so weak, we wouldn't have known what to do anyway. We can understand someone dying for a person worth dying for, and we can understand how someone good and noble could inspire us to selfless sacrifice. But God put his love on the line for us by offering his Son in sacrificial death while we were of no use whatever to him.
Romans 5:8 (Message)

Running Back To You

Running... I don't know about you but I don't run just for fun. Outside of exercising, the only time I run is when I'm in a hurry. It's a time when I need something immediately. Yes walking will get me there. However, if I'm running its urgent. It's a right now issue. Can't wait until later. Five minutes late could cause a flight to be missed.

When I hear Lowell Pye - Running Back to You (song of the week posted yesterday) that's what I think about. Running back to God because I can't wait another minute. It's urgent that I get to Him. The situations and circumstances that I'm facing I know I can't handle on my own. Therefore I have to run to safety. Safety being to Jesus. Understanding that I can't go another week, day, hour or minute without any help or hope. So I'm running... running... running...

Understanding that I left God. I doubted God... Turned my back on God... Disobeyed God's word and it was all by choice. Yet now I'm running. Running because I know He can save me. He can forgive me. He can help me. He can lead me. So I'm running... Running to His arms opened wide. Embracing me. With all my faults He still loves me. With my dirty hands & feet He will hold me. He will cleanse me. He will give me a new name. Child of the Most High King sounds correct. Daughter...Son...Friend.... I hear Him calling me. So I'm running.

Running because I can't make it on my own. I've tried it and even with success I'm still nothing without God. I'm empty. My hardships are unbearable without God. My future is dark without God. So I'm running... Living a life by the world's standards was fun but then then the light turned on. I'm digging my own way to hell. So I'm running because I want to be right. I want to be made whole. I want to live a life pleasing to God's sight. So I'm running because without His love, grace, mercy, favor & forgiveness I won't make it. Can't you see this is urgent... It can't wait... My life depends on this. If I wait to long my chance could be gone... so I'm running... I'm running.... I'm running... Lord I'm running back to you...

Word Wednesday

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.
Ephesians 3:30 (KJV)

God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us.
Ephesians 3:20 (Message)

In His Presence

There is nothing like being in the presence of God. My song of the week pick, Press In Your Presence by Shana Wilson speaks volumes. I encourage you to take a listen to this song which was posted yesterday.

Its in His presence where you can lay it all at His feet. Allowing you to be real with God. Not tip toeing around but pouring out your heart. You may give bits & pieces to different individuals but you can tell it all to God. Its in His presence you can release it all. Realizing you're His child & He cares. Its in His presence you can admit your faults while asking for forgiveness & help to get it right. It's in His presence you feel like His only child. You can feel Him wrapping His arms around you & drying your eyes. You can hear Him saying He loves you, trust me (God), & speaking to you about your situation. Its in His presence that it seems nothing else matters. No worrying & stressing. It's in His presence where love, joy & peace reside. Its a moment you just don't want to end.

Its in His presence where it soon won't be about you but you begin to thank Him for who He is. Thanking Him for all He has done. Thanking Him just for being available for lil ol' you & calling you His child. Knowing after this moment with the King things/actions/feelings will be different. You may find yourself saying, "Take my heart, take my mind, take my soul, never let me go."

Being in God's presence is like a great snap shot. A person can describe the whole ambiance to you, but until you experience it... you won't fully understand. So go ahead and "Press In His Presence."

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11

Thank You Lord

At times one can get so caught up on what they don't have, what they need and all that jazz. By the time those thoughts finish occupying space; you've lost sight of what you have. Forgetting that you are blessed!Don't put so much emphesis on what is going wrong that you forget to thank God for ALL that is going right. It's easy to take the small things for granteed but remember some people would love to be even where you are. Yes, u! There are poeple who would love to read a book, but can't! Love to run on a treadmill, but can't!. Love to listen to some Mary Mary, but can't! Love to have a home to call home, but don't! So as you continue to strive & obtain all God has for you be thankful. Give God thanks for every opportunity to advance, learn & grow. Give God thanks for hard times so that He may continue to show himself stong in your life. Thank God for those whom He placed in your life who love & push you into your destiny. Thank God for your enemies too! Thank God for the ability to move, see, hear & live! Just a reminder, God knows what you need. The situation you are in didn't catch God by surprise. No season in your life is pointless. Now, take a minute and reflect. Made you smile, right?! There are a whole lot of shoulda, coulda, woulda's that could have happened.... but God!

All I can do is think of this song:

It could have been me, out doors, with no shoes, and no clothes, all left alone, with out a friend or just another number, with a tragic end, but you didn't see fit to let none of these things be, You keep on, keeping on, keeping on blessing me, and I wanna say, THANK YOU LORD FOR ALL YOU'VE DONE FOR ME!

Word Wednesday

Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
Matthew 6:34 (KJV)

Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don't get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.

Smile

Ok, my song of the week choice is one everyone can relate to. It is Kirk Franklin's, "I Smile" which is off his upcoming album. It was posted yesterday for those who want to take a listen. Any who, the song message is telling us to smile in spite of. I understand that you may already know to do this, but do you do it? We smile when everything is 100. Yet, how does your facial emotion translate when things aren't going your way? Do you look depressed, sad, irritated, discouraged, mad and/or upset?

Now that's not to take away that we will ever feel that way. However, this shouldn't be how you feel daily or every time things go wrong. Pity parties are out! Example if something happens you don't like. It may make you upset, mad & everything else. Thing is, your faith should kick in first gear because you're a child of the King. Understanding God doesn't make mistakes and He is able to handle any & everything you're facing. I'm definitely not taking away that life gets hard. Yet as the song says, "Smile."

Smile with confidence knowing God is working things out on your behalf. The devil loves to see you doubt God when rough times hit. You can even smile at him believing God's got your back. Take it one day at a time. Try smiling through the hurt, pain & disappointments. Realizing your temporary road block isn't your permanent destination. With God there is so much more to look forward to. That just made me smile, lol. The sun may dim but the SON is always shining. Not to mention "you look sooooo much better when you smile" any way. :)

A cheerful heart brings a smile to your face; a sad heart makes it hard to get through the day. Proverbs 15:13 (Message)
